Purpose
The Cooper-Ackwood Family Archive exists to preserve the shared history of the family through the thoughtful participation of its members.
This policy establishes who may participate, how contributions are made, how information is reviewed, and how living family members may manage information concerning themselves.
Eligibility for Family Accounts
Access to the archive is a privilege granted to individuals with a meaningful connection to the Cooper-Ackwood family.
Accounts may be approved for:
- Adult members of the Cooper and Ackwood families.
- Spouses or legally recognized partners, when appropriate.
- Adult descendants.
- Other relatives approved by the administrators.

Administrators may:

Administrators shall carefully balance these requests with the archive's responsibility to preserve an accurate historical record.
Contributor Recognition
Whenever practical, the archive should record:
- The name of the contributor.
- The date of submission.
- Any known source information.
- Notes explaining significant revisions or updates.
Recognizing contributors strengthens the historical record and provides valuable context for future generations.
Standards of Participation
Participants are expected to:
- Contribute honestly.
- Respect the privacy of relatives.
- Avoid speculation presented as fact.
- Treat differing memories with respect.
- Follow the values established by this Constitution.
Participation in the archive should strengthen the family's shared understanding of its history.
Suspension of Participation
Administrators may temporarily or permanently suspend participation if an individual:
- Repeatedly violates the archive's policies.
- Knowingly submits false information.
- Misuses private family information.
- Harasses or threatens other participants.
- Attempts to damage or compromise the archive.
Whenever practical, concerns should be addressed through communication before participation is suspended.
